This is the first letter, but I have cheated. I scanned it from a book called 'Illumination' by Christopher Jarman and fiddled with it in Photoshop. The source was a Fifteenth Century manuscript. It would translate very nicely into an embroidered piece.
I like this challenge. I have a lovely book called Outdoor Types - An Urban Alphabet by Simon Jennings who has photographed images of letters found in the environment and presented them with information about the origins of the letters themselves. As a bonus, the book includes a range of magnetic letters to play with on the fridge. I have been meaning to do something based around it for ages (story of my life). You may have nudged me into a project!
